Enjoy thick, freshly set curd in our beautiful hand-painted terracotta curd-setters, crafted from the clay of the Rann. These premium dahi handis offer all the health benefits of terracotta. Known as “माटी नो काम,” this traditional painted pottery craft from Kutch, Gujarat, dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization and is now practiced by only a few families. These contemporary curd pots for your kitchen are made with locally sourced clay by artisans in Bhuj, Kutch. Women artisans hand-paint each clay curd pot with traditional motifs using bamboo brushes and organic clay-based colors. To use your new dahi handi, fill it with drinking water and leave it overnight, then empty and dry it completely in the sun the next day. Some seepage may occur due to the ware’s porosity. For washing, use warm water with mild soap and a soft sponge if needed, but do not scrub. Ensure the curd pot is completely dry before storing. Perfect for your dining table or collection, these terracotta curd-setters combine tradition with modern utility.
